Long Term Storage

Based on the Rosetta software suite and in cooperation with TIB Hannover, we have created a Reliable Storage System to ensure the sustainable, long-term availability of research findings in the Digital Laboratory. We are currently expanding the focus of the storage area. In future, it will also contain materials which are not merely the product of retro-conversion, but have been produced through genuinely digital means, for example, the →Born-digitals from Friedlich Kittler’s estate.

Other project goals include obtaining “nestor” certification of the storage system as a long-term digital archive and implementing the IIIF interface at the partner institutions for a media server which technically aligns with the spirit of the MWW for digitalised media, similar to the → cross-collection search for metadata.
